poetry by j matthew waters

you can run but you cannot hide

the local news pushes its way
into the palm of my hand
a constant reminder
the information age
continues to shrink the planet

I’d been considering lately
of moving back to Iowa
but reports of violence
creeping in and out of her cities
leads me to conclude
there’s no place left to hide

Hi! Would it be okay if I nominated you for the sunshine blog award? 🙂

    • I am always honored and humbled when nominated for any blog award. I certainly appreciate you thinking of me for such an honor. I always accept them in my heart and thank the person for thinking of me in such a way. For personal reasons, however, I’ve simply chosen not to display them in my little poetry world. Again, thank you so much for thinking of me. John

    All to true, sadly.

There is no place that is free
    From man’s tyranny.
