haiku

the following haiku first appeared on twitter

*

autumn is knocking
she is welcome in my house
stay with me awhile

*

my heart is missing
a little bit of your love
when you are not near

*

pretending the world
fits in the palm of my hand
i give it to you

*

blue moon arising
awakens your deepest sleep
dreams always alive

*

blessings disguising
like a sun never rising
come redemption day

*

stars slipping eastward
fading past the horizon
last minute wishes

*

water refreshes
spiritual revelations
the baptist moves on

*

early morning dew
succulent and glistening
thanks to rising sun

*

the cat is outside
pretending to be a ghost
banging shit around

*

angel in my eye
my peripheral vision
seeing believing

*

orchestrated drums
beating in eights and sixteenths
calls ominous clouds

*

saturday downtown
crowded open air market
in search of robot

*

catching falling star
hitching interstellar ride
forever in flight

*

hopping southbound train
kansas city here i come
home of the monarchs

*

forever searching
truth right around the corner
stop and take a look

*

painting memories
colors of your emotions
brings you back to life

*

beautiful rain
soft and intoxicating
pour me another

*

knuckleball pitcher
voodoo artist on the mound
thorn in batter’s side

*

just ’round the corner
lemonade for a nickel
be back in a bit

*

lost in lonesome thoughts
figuring out the universe
one star at a time

*

scooby dooby doo
one far out and righteous dude
digs the scooby snacks

*

saturday morning
cartoons coffee and crossword
in any order

*

hobo on the run
catches boxcar outside town
two bits in pocket

*

whiskey o’whiskey
my fine friend from kentucky
kiss me o’kiss me

*

this listening post
at corner of nickel and dime
trading coins for thoughts

*

the wind fell silent
darkness enveloped the land
counting down from ten

*

stillness in the air
clouds hanging low, unmoving
gloam turns into night

*

map with dotted lines
leading to long lost treasures
adventure begins

*

She flew into town
With a pistol and bullet
To slay the dragon

*

batteries
never need charging
give me some

*

eyes rising
then dimples showing
your true smile

*

tiresome heart
anticipating
your sweet kiss

*

this quiet place
wishing and hoping
come inside

*

lift me up
find me a river
gone fishing

*

this wind talks
dances with curtains
draws you in

*

ride my bike
like i’m a teenager
keep me young

*

belonging
treated like family
acceptance

*

giving back
sharing memories
you’re my time

*

chocolate
tasty tiny kiss
in my mouth

*

begonia
hanging in basket
sweet yellow

*

birds whistling
flying through garden
and sprinkler

*

finding favor
natural spirits
this sweet love

*

decisions
time she is flying
come with me

*

from the dust
of this diverse earth
breeds new life

*

sands of time
repetitious trips
ageless mirrors

*

this china
wrapped in white linen
sunday brunch

*

trains roll on
throughout summer nights
down the line

*

in shadows
evening bringing change
we transform

*

hummingbird
hovering twilight
stay awhile
