fighting solitary confinement
there’s no reason to cry
but go ahead if you want to
there’s nobody around
not in the parlor
or the kitchen
not even in the sunroom
if you look outside you’ll
notice it’s bright
and quiet
and windless
it’s early spring
but it feels like late autumn
and this feeling
hits you in the gut
something tells you
something’s not quite right
a subtle reminder
there’s work yet to be done
april two thousand sixteen

Not being in sync with oneself or nature can be a bumpy journey. You expressed it beautifully. My take. 🙂
Thank you for your comments, Olga. You’re take is a perceptive one.
Love your poetry and sometimes I don’t know how to comment. I took a chance on this one. 🙂
It means so much to me that you love my poetry…I am truly honored….

Love this one too!! My feelings exactly today!
Glad you can relate to this one, Lola!
I’ve missed a lot in my hiatus, but mostly I’ve missed J Matthew’s writing.
Oh, thank you so much, Jennifer.
Love the last stanza.
