new moon shine
morning moon rises alongside sun
thin sliver of aspiration
reminding me of bright october nights
though the days are lengthening
I find myself looking back
expecting to rekindle the fire in your eyes
instead I am left to my own devices
testing the devil in the darkness
drifting aimlessly from dusk until dawn
april two thousand eighteen
