out of my life
oh captive bird
is that the only song
you know
sing sing sing to me
a lullaby
oh captive bird
serenading me to sleep
doors wide open
why oh why
won’t you leave
oh captive bird
finally scheming
in my dreams
can feel you flying
like never before

oh thank God it looked all different on twitter and i’m like Noooooooo!!!! (I thought you changed your site all around. As you can see, that freaked me out. i’m better now though). (lol)
Oh goodness sorry about freaking you out, Margaret, but I’m elated you’re better now!!
OMG much better thank you!!!!
Mr. Waters you captured the feeling of longing and freedom so well! The bird, while singing sweetly, represents something or someone trapped, and the open door symbolizes the possibility of escape. It’s almost as if the bird’s true freedom is only realized in dreams, which is sad. I love how you explored the tension between being bound by something and the desire to break free.
Nicely written like all the others! 🐦 🐦⬛ 🦜
