Beyond this world

The knowledge of the past stays with us.
To let go is simply to release any images and emotions.

― Alan Watts

The art of letting go
Like a mechanical flow
Releasing anxiety’s hold

Physical pleasure’s gleam
Disappointed like an empty dream
Repeating a story untold

Destinations never found
In an evil sense bound
Pleasure’s grasp or a futile plea

Don’t hold on too tight
One day they’ll be much light
Abandonment forever free

The poor in spirit knows
Which burdens one must forgo
No heavy weight to carry

deception

where did they go
those cunning demons disguised
as the sweetest little birds
softly waking you
from an early morning
midsummer dream
as if to say everything
will work itself out just fine
as long as you trust
in their ways

pure of heart

change is in the air
but then again what else is new
clouds like lies
covering prior mistakes
unnoticed by innocent eyes
nearly always sporting
rose-colored glasses

hypocrisy

tell me who is happy
at least those in the know
or even the ones wearing
rose-colored glasses

I understand many angels
have descended
where the bombings
are the heaviest
mending their own wings
while tending to casualties

—how dare the rest of us grow old
witnessing the powers within

[in the meantime]

peace loving people
are handcuffed & blindfolded
{many left for dead
& therefore the angels}
held hostage & violated
by way of a broken world
and empty promises
