in and out of reality
I crawled out of my skin
and curled into a ball
allowed the wind to kick me
down an endless winding road
along the way I witnessed
invisible claws dig
deep inside an open field
uncovering ancient treasures
as diamonds gradually
overwhelmed the sky
I unfurled my mind and
surrendered my spirit
to the next reality

Many thanks, Mary Rose. So happy you enjoyed this poem. xo
it is one of those poems that one feels, as i just surrendered to another reality,
you would think there would be one reality, but they seem to shift like the energy of butterfly wings…
Thank you for sharing that shift in a soft version…

How do you continue to come up with these unique ways of expressing life? Do you study a subject and see it from different perspectives, like an artist would visualize a painting…or do the words just come to you?
Poetry comes to me in different ways. Sometimes I visualize an idea and try to shape it into words. Other times I hear a phrase someone said (or sang) and take it from there. In this poem I wrote out the first two lines and the rest just seemed to follow. Thanks so much for visiting here, Beverley and commenting. So glad you are here.
You’re in the sky with diamonds!
Thank you, Millie – I greatly appreciate your patronage and encouragement. xo
Very well expressed! I prefer this kind of writing in poetry, something deep and symbolic which begs to be read multiple times. Well done!
Thanks so much, Chistie, I’m glad you enjoyed this one. ;`)
