hunting down the dragonfly

in every object resides a memory
most going unnoticed forever
and a few more days
either accidentally misplaced
or stashed away on purpose

a time will come when one of them
will reappear of out nowhere
and suddenly you are entranced
incapable of movement or sound
transported by the dragonfly

  1. This is a very beautiful poem, so profound. Oddly enough, the effect you describe is (somewhat) happening to me right now. These three lines in particular:

    “and suddenly you are entranced
    incapable of movement or sound
    transported by the dragonfly”

I’m not sure why, but it’s reminding me of some Japanese text I had read before. I don’t remember what it was, perhaps it was a haiku of sorts, but it had a similar vibe to what you wrote. Great piece, as always!
