If I catch you coming back my way
I’m gonna serve it to you

                        ―John Anthony White

She pinned a tail to my behind
as if I were a donkey
somehow tied a string to my underbelly
and away she sent me sailing

With each tug & pull
[and adding more line]
I became less & less vulnerable
relaying signals
that no Seven Nation Army
could ever hold us back

escape from within

caught on thin ice

i suddenly became lost

like a runaway kite

my cheeks busting

eyes leery yet fearless

of the insane cracks

daring my bladed soles

to never stop flying

dog fight

the flight of the single line kite
dressed in fire engine red
with hawk like eyes
is somewhat controlled
by slow tugs
and sharp yanks
tactfully waiting
for a cyclonic burst
to blast it toward the enemy
rearing its cunning sharp blade
